Scholarship Application
Akin Ayodele Scholarship, in memory of Michael Tilmon
We are currently in the 6th year of The Akin Ayodele Scholarship in memory of Michael Tilmon. Michael was one of my best friends and teammates while at MacArthur High School. Sadly, he passed away in a car accident in March of 1997. He was an amazing teammate and friend not only to me, but the whole community. He was always willing to give a helping hand and chose to see the bright side of things.
As part of my scholarship program, I would like to honor those who exemplify the type of character and integrity that he possessed. This person(s) must have a strong work ethic, determination and perseverance.
At least $10,000 will be awarded, distributed among MacArthur High School who embody the characteristics listed above.
The criteria to qualify for the scholarship are as follows:
1. Are you a senior this year? And graduating from MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas?
2. Have you participated in a varsity sport or extra curricular activity in high school?
3. Has your academic performance improved between your junior and senior year?
4. Have you overcome obstacles in your life that have made you a better person?
5. Student must complete the online application process at www.akinayodele.net
If you can answer yes to each of these questions, you are eligible to apply for the Michael Tilmon Memorial Scholarship. Please note that all applications will be kept completely confidential. The deadline to apply is April 15, 2010.
